Whether it’s under a tree or around a dining table, communities have gathered to share stories for centuries, inspiring empathy and learning. This age-old practice can be traced back to the prehistoric period, when humans lived in caves. Re-creating this in a contemporary urban setting, a neon-lit cave is set up at NEX. Viewers are welcome to gather around a campfire, featuring visual stories created by students from Zhonghua Secondary School. Enjoy the stop-motion animations (including imagined realities of robots and animals), masks you can ‘try on’ with Augmented Reality, and photographs that celebrate the neighbourhood of Serangoon.
